May 30. — The final of the 6th “Chinese Bridge” World Chinese Language Competition for primary school students was successfully held in the capital of Georgia.This event became a true celebration of friendship, culture, and young talents, gathering children, teachers, parents, and officials on one stage.
The competition was organized by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Georgia, with the direct preparation and execution undertaken by the Confucius Institute at Alte University.The event was supported by the Confucius Classroom at the European University (in partnership with Xinjiang Medical University) and the Confucius Institute at Tbilisi Free University (in partnership with Zhengzhou University).An Atmosphere of Celebration and Serious CompetitionFrom the very morning, there was a lively atmosphere in the hall. Participants registered, drew their performance numbers, and rehearsed their speeches one last time. Parents and teachers supported the young contestants, while guests eagerly awaited the start.The program opened with an official ceremony, after which the main action began. The competition consisted of two parts: a thematic speech in Chinese and a talent demonstration related to Chinese culture. Children recited poems, sang songs, danced, played traditional musical instruments, performed martial arts, drew, and practiced calligraphy.Special attention was paid to practical language proficiency — the jury evaluated pronunciation accuracy, fluency, lexical richness, and the ability to communicate spontaneously. The cultural part accounted for approximately 30% of the total score

After the competition program concluded, a short coffee break was organized for the guests, during which the counting commission tallied the scores and the organizers prepared the award documents.
The award ceremony was the culmination of the day. All participants received diplomas and commemorative prizes.The winner of the competition was 11-year-old Gabriel Pavladze. His main prize is an opportunity to visit China, where he will spend two weeks in Beijing and Tianjin and take part in a cultural and educational program for the winners of the “Chinese Bridge” competition.
