Green Climate Fund brings together partners in CA to strengthen climate finance opportunities

Today in Ashgabat at the Archabil Hotel in a hybrid format, the Central Asian Readiness Dialogue on Climate Finance through Collaboration and Partnership was held as part of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Readiness Closing Conference, dedicated to discussing regional financing mechanisms and strengthening of the capacity building and dialogue of the Central Asian countries.
The main goal of the Readiness Project is to ensure the readiness of Turkmenistan to interact with the Green Climate Fund and establish key mechanisms to govern and coordinate climate action and finance to engage with the GCF systematically and effectively.
The closing conference was attended by representatives of national bodies from the countries of Central Asia, international and expert community, development finance institutions and non-profit organizations to discuss the readiness of countries for climate finance, new initiatives for capacity building, regional interaction and new project ideas. Within the framework of the conference, the ongoing efforts by Central Asian countries and partners, as well as new opportunities for the creation of conditions for strengthening the climate finance flow at the regional level were considered.
The Regional Conference is organized with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the Green Climate Fund within the framework of Programme “NDA Strengthening and Country Programming support for Turkmenistan and initiating a Regional Approach to Climate Action”.
