Pioneering the Path to a Sustainable Future: CAREC Institute’s 4th Annual Research Conference to Drive Green, Innovative, and Inclusive Development
The CAREC Institute is pleased to announce its 4th Annual Research Conference, titled “Rethinking Development Strategies: Green, Innovative, and Inclusive Development for the CAREC Region.” Scheduled for August 29-30, 2024, at KIMEP University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, this prominent event is co-organized by the College of Social Sciences and the China & Central Asia Studies Center at KIMEP University, in collaboration with the ADB-PRC Regional Knowledge Sharing Initiative (RKSI), with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the PRC Poverty Reduction and Regional Cooperation Fund.
This year’s conference serves as a premier platform for academic experts, policymakers, and thought leaders to discuss sustainable development pathways for the CAREC region. Amidst an increasingly complex global landscape, the event will focus on three critical themes: green development, innovation, and inclusivity. These areas are crucial for addressing challenges such as climate change, technological disruption, and social inequality.
“”Research on regional development and climate action is foundational for successful policy design and implementation. The 4th CAREC Institute Research Conference is an outstanding opportunity for experts from the CAREC region and beyond to advance our understanding of critical development and climate issues. But ultimately, we have to be sure to translate greater knowledge into action for sustainable impact at scale. Bridging the gap from research to impactful action is a key role for think tanks such as CAREC Institute.”, – said Johannes F. Linn, Nonresident Senior Fellow at The Brookings Institution.
