Subsidiary of KazTransOil JSC updates production assets of Batumi Sea Port
At “Batumi Oil Terminal” LLC (100% ownership belongs to «KazTransOil» JSC), a new “Aist” type crane with a lifting capacity of up to 40 tons has been commissioned to equip the dry cargo terminal of «Batumi Sea Port» LLC.
This upgrade of the technical infrastructure will enhance the port’s efficiency, which is crucial for its further development and competitiveness. This initiative is associated with increasing the share of bulk cargo at «Batumi Oil Terminal» LLC.
As a result of the installation of the new portal crane, the technological productivity of the dry cargo terminal at «Batumi Sea Port» LLC will increase. In particular, the operational capabilities for servicing large-tonnage vessels of the Handysize and Handymax types will be expanded.
From January to September 2024, «Batumi Sea Port» LLC handled 1,408,000 tons of dry cargo, which is 51,100 tons more than the figure for the same period in 2023.
As part of its development strategy, “Batumi Oil Terminal” LLC has initiated two significant investment projects aimed at increasing the volumes of transshipment of liquefied hydrocarbon gas (LHG) and light oil products. These projects involve the modernization and expansion of the terminal’s infrastructure, enabling the company to enhance the efficiency of processing these types of cargo, satisfying the growing market demand and strengthening the port’s competitiveness.
This initiative is part of a long-term plan for the development of the port, which should contribute to an increase in its cargo turnover and improve its position as an important logistics hub in the region.
“KazTransOil” JSC is the national operator of the main oil pipeline. It is part of the group of “NC KazMunayGas” JSC. It owns a diversified network of main oil pipelines with a total length of 5,400 km and provides operational services for the maintenance of pipelines of third-party organizations with a length of over 5,000 km.
“Batumi Oil Terminal” LLC (BOT) is a subsidiary of JSC “KazTransOil” (100%). Through BOT, direct ownership and management of production assets in Georgia are conducted.
