Meeting of the heads of foreign policy departments of Turkmenistan and Georgia
On August 5, 2025, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maka Bochorishvili.During the meeting, the parties discussed Turkmen-Georgian cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian fields.The importance of continuing the practice of bilateral visits at the highest and high levels, as well as the importance of holding regular consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, was noted.The ministers noted the high level of political dialogue and constructive interaction within international organizations. The participation of a high-level Georgian delegation in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries is another confirmation of the close partnership within the UN.The heads of the foreign policy departments discussed the possibilities of intensifying trade and economic ties, including in the areas of transport, logistics, and energy.The importance of cultural and humanitarian cooperation was particularly emphasized.The parties expressed their intention to continue fruitful cooperation based on the principles of respect and trust.
