Irakli Nadareishvili: “State support for placing Georgian products on Alibaba.com creates unique opportunities for global accessibility

Irakli Nadareishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, stated that the state-supported initiative to place Georgian companies on Alibaba.com is a significant part of the government’s policy to promote and encourage exports. According to him, the general agreement signed between the Enterprise Georgia Agency and Alibaba.com, one of the leading e-commerce platforms, is crucial for Georgian entrepreneurs and exporters. This agreement allows Georgian export products, including those in premium categories, to be listed, creating unique opportunities for global access.“One of the key directions of the Georgian government’s policy to support entrepreneurship and business is the promotion of exports. Over the years, the state has built a substantial portfolio of programs and facilitating tools, primarily offered to our exporters through the Enterprise Georgia platform. This includes participation in exhibitions, technical assistance, grant programs, and various trainings. At this stage, we are expanding the range of opportunities available to our exporters, enabling them to place their products on Alibaba.com” – Irakli Nadareishvili said.In the initial phase, around 50 Georgian companies are planned to be registered on Alibaba.com. The Enterprise Georgia Agency will fully cover the annual membership fee, as well as other costs associated with product promotion and placement on the platform. Notably, Georgian companies will benefit from the Global Gold Supplier status, a verification that increases trust in the companies and helps potential buyers make informed decisions.
