Pfizer, Çalık Holding, Alarko Holding and other foreign companies sign new contracts for projects in Kazakhstan worth $1.6 billion
Within the framework of the VI Kazakhstan Round Table on Global Investments (KGIR) with the participation of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov, award ceremonies for the best foreign investors and signing contracts for the implementation of new projects in Kazakhstan were held.
This year the awarding of the best investors was held in 10 nominations in such sectors of the economy as health care, education, energy, agriculture and others.
In particular, Knauf Group (long-term partnership), Wabtec Corporation (investment activity), Eni S.p.A. (sustainable development), Honeywell (innovative production), Coca Cola Içecek Kazakhstan (social responsibility) were recognized.
In addition, industry awards were presented to representatives of Aitas KZ JSC for contribution to the development of agribusiness potential, Ordamed JSC for contribution to the development of healthcare, Nobel AFP JSC for contribution to the development of the pharmaceutical industry, Alarko Holding JSC for contribution to infrastructure development and Alageum Electric JSC for contribution to the development of human capital.
On the margins of KGIR-2023 in the presence of the Prime Minister 26 memorandums and commercial documents worth $1.6 billion were also signed in such sectors of the economy as agro-industrial complex, mining and metallurgy, health care, light industry, engineering, education, production of construction mixtures and chemical products.
Thus, Pfizer will establish in Kazakhstan the production of innovative pneumococcal vaccine Prevenar 20. Çalık Holding will build a plant for processing legume crops in Kostanay region. Business conglomerate Alarko Holding signed an agreement with the Akimat of Shymkent on construction of greenhouses. Lasselsberger group will build a complex for production of construction adhesives and dry mixes. Roche plans to localize original biotechnological medicines. Işıklar Packaging will build a plant for production of kraft paper packaging. Alstom will open in Kazakhstan a car repair depot and the main service center for maintenance of electric locomotives.
For reference: KGIR (Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable) annually gathers heads of large industrial enterprises, representatives of the financial sector, politicians and experts from all over the world. This year’s event was attended by representatives of the UK, Vietnam, Canada, Germany, Qatar, China, UAE, Saudi Arabia, USA, Turkey, Qatar, France, Czech Republic and a number of other countries.
