Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates, which provides for liberalization of products and services produced in Georgia, is in force.

As Genadi Arveladze, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development stated, the Agreement on Economic Partnership, which is essentially a new generation agreement on free trade, will further deepen the economic integration between the two countries. “It should be noted that this is the first agreement of this type for Georgia with the Arab state of the Gulf. The attractiveness of Georgia is strengthened by the fact that the country has a free trade agreement with two large economies – the European Union and China. This strategic advantage of Georgia allows Arab companies to take advantage of investment opportunities and gain access to these markets. With the implementation of this Agreement, a new and important stage begins in the relations between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates,” –Genadi Arveladze noted.

After the implementation of the Agreement, the UAE will immediately open the market for such important products for Georgia as beef and lamb, honey, nuts, mineral water, most of the fruit and vegetable preserves, non-alcoholic beverages, nitrogen fertilizers, textile products, etc.

The United Arab Emirates is already Georgia’s leading trade partner among Arab countries. According to the data of 2023, the trade turnover between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates is increased by 39% compared to the same period of the previous year, while the export is increased by 73%.
