Mariam Kvrivishvili Discussed Georgia’s Participation in Shanghai Import Expo with Chinese Ambassador

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia.The parties discussed the positive dynamics of the development of the existing strategic partnership between Georgia and China, including in the trade and economic direction.Special emphasis was placed on Georgia’s participation in the 8th China International Import Expo, which will be held in Shanghai on November 5-10. It was noted that the Shanghai Expo is a good opportunity for Georgian exporters to enter the Chinese market more actively. It was highlighted that Georgia has been participating in the Shanghai Expo since 2018, and over 120 local exporters have benefited from this opportunity. As noted, over 40 leading Georgian companies will be represented in three pavilions at the current exhibition.The parties highlighted that participation in the Shanghai Expo as well as other bilateral economic activities will contribute to the further strengthening of strategic economic relations with China.Bilateral cooperation in the civil aviation and tourism sectors was also covered during the conversation. It was noted that the visa-free regime and the launch of additional flights between Georgia and China contributed to the growth of tourist flows. The importance of designating new routes and increasing frequencies in the direction of deepening bilateral economic ties was also emphasized.Deputy Ministers Genadi Arveladze and Irakli Nadareishvili also participated in the meeting.
