KOTRA inaugurates new office in Tbilisi to boost Korea–Georgia economic cooperation
The opening ceremony of the office of the Korea Trade–Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), which has become the organization’s 130th overseas representative office, was held in Tbilisi.
The event was attended by KOTRA President Kang Kyung Sung, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Georgia Kim Hyon Du, as well as representatives of Georgian government agencies.
According to Ambassador Kim Hyon Du, KOTRA, as a state agency of the Republic of Korea, plays an important role in promoting international trade and investment. He noted that the establishment of the Tbilisi office is aimed at fostering economic cooperation between the two countries.
“The new office will perform the functions of the embassy’s commercial division and will serve as a platform for strengthening cooperation between the business communities of South Korea and Georgia,” the ambassador said.
As part of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between KOTRA and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Georgia. The document outlines cooperation to expand bilateral relations and create additional opportunities for investment.
Representatives of both sides emphasized that the signing of the memorandum reflects their commitment to further strengthening economic ties and building a solid foundation for future joint projects.
