Diwali celebration organized in Tbilisi by NGO CDPF
Tbilisi hosted the third Light and Prosperity Festival Diwali The NGO “Cultural Diversity for a Peaceful Future” organized the third Light and Prosperity Festival “Diwali”. The event was supported by the Higher Education Institute Millennium in Tbilisi. In the honor of the holiday a concert with participation of Hindu students was organized.
They represented their national songs and dances. The festival hosted a dance group of Hindu Cultural Center. A visitor of the event was the Ambassador of India in Georgia and Armenia. Participants of the festivals were awarded with certificate of honor. Partners of the event were the restaurant Jimmy Jimmy, Georgia LLC Ganesha Impexs – Indian supermarket Sher e Punjab, Indian Investor Association Tsnori. Diwali, or Deepawali is the Hindu festival of lights, typically lasting five days and celebrated during the Hindu Lunisolar month Kartika (between mid-October and mid-November).One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, Diwali symbolises the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance”. The festival is widely associated with Lakshmi, goddess of prosperity, but regional traditions connect it to Rama, Vishnu, Krishna, Durga, or Kali.
