The first meetings of the Working Group and the General Meeting of the International TITR Association this year were held in Ankara
On January 25-26, 2024, in Ankara, Türkiye, on-site meetings of the Working Group and the General Meeting of the association of legal entities “International Association “Trans-Caspian International Transport Route” (Association) were held.
During the meetings, participants were presented with a report on the results of the Association’s activities for 2023. In 2023, the volume of cargo transported along the TITR route amounted to 2.7 million tons, compared to 2022, the volume of cargo transportation increased by 86%.
The final report also notes the expansion of the geography of the TITR route. The membership of the Association has increased to 25 companies and is represented by 11 countries.
In addition, following negotiations with the ADB, agreements were reached on the allocation of a grant for the development of a strategy for the further development of the TITR route in 2024.
The participants of the General Meeting approved the new composition of the Board of Association, as well as the plan for the volume of cargo transportation along the TITR route for 2024.
As part of the meetings, a round table was held with cargo owners from Kazakhstan and Turkey on the topic “TITR: trends, challenges and prospects.” Representatives of the World Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Türkiye spoke to the participants of the round table. The participants discussed current issues regarding the digitalization of the TITR route and identified key points of interaction in organizing the development of transportation along the TITR route.
